About me

Salmon

Marko was born in Serbia, and typical of fly fishermen and fly tyers from that particular region of Europe, he has an astute sense of detail - and a keen eye for the subtleties that make fish eat flies. Now residing in Oslo, Norway, Marko spends much of his time targeting seatrout, brown trout, and salmon in the local fjords, rivers, and lakes.

With lots of knowledge and experience gained while fishing in the Balkan region - including the gin-clear mountain streams of Slovenia, which provide the last stronghold of the elusive marble trout - Marko has evolved into a great allround fly angler, who masters everything from French nymphing and dry flies to stillwater streamer fishing and swinging tube flies for salmon.

As a fly tyer, Marko has developed his own unique style, which pays homage to his Balkan roots while at the same time incorporating impulses and inspiration from the Nordic fly tying scene.
